Reform UK Takes Control of Bournemouth and Poole Town Councils.
Reform UK has secured a major victory in the Bournemouth and Poole Town Council elections, taking control of both councils and delivering a decisive blow to the Liberal Democrats across the conurbation.
The result follows growing public frustration with Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council and sends a clear message that residents want change, accountability, and common sense back in local government.
“The Liberal Democrats received a well-deserved thumping at the ballot box for ignoring the people they were elected to represent. Residents are tired of being overcharged, overlooked, and treated with contempt by politicians who no longer listen to local communities.”
Poole secured a whopping 15 of 21 seats obliterating both the LibDems and Poole People. And with Reform in Bournemouth East and West wins adding up to 12 (out of 21) it means we have a majority on both councils.
The results in Bournemouth West were particularly significant: Every Reform UK candidate standing in Bournemouth West was elected – despite it being the only area where the Conservatives fielded candidates, making it the most competitive battleground locally.
“In Bournemouth West, we won everywhere we stood. These were huge wards fought against established parties with far greater resources, yet voters backed Reform decisively. What we saw was genuine political momentum made visible.”
Reform says the new Town Council majorities will now allow councillors to block any attempt by BCP Council to shift existing services onto Town Councils and effectively charge residents twice through additional taxation.
“These Town Councils must not become a vehicle for BCP to dump responsibilities and send taxpayers a second bill later on. Voters backed our position clearly.”
Reform also stressed that these elections were for the new Town Councils, not BCP Council itself, where elections are due next year.
“Yesterday was a major step forward. The momentum is clearly with Reform – and next year voters will have the opportunity to bring real change to BCP itself.”
Congratulations – Bournemouth use to be a nice clean town. Now boarded up shops anti-social behaviour, begging and mass illegal immigration. Do what you can to put more money into community policing, litter patrols, reduce parking charges and attract new retail investment in the town centre and use money found by cutting waste, unnecessary job roles and spending on diversity and inclusion. I do however think climate and conservation is important.
Well done everybody: those who put their heads above the barricade and those who campaigned.
Excellent basis from which to launch next May 2027 takeover of BCP council so that residents’ interests can be put first.
